Brainard Lake Water Session

Brainard Lake Water Session

I’m so excited to share with you Casey + Zach’s summer couples session at Brainard Lake.

Casey + Zach’s Brainard Lake Summer Water Session

Casey + Zach visit Colorado often and they have just completely fallen in love with the mountain views here! I was so excited when they told me not only were they would be bringing their dog this time around but they wanted her in the photos with them!!

A few things to know when planning a session at Brainard Lake:

It has a lot more “shore” to walk on the further you get into summer. If you go in the first weeks of Brainard Lake opening, the water is super high from all of the snow melt.

In my opinion, sunset is superior at this location. The sun sets perfectly behind the mountains with the lake in front.

Bring a change of clothes. Because the water is very cold, you’ll want to change as soon as the session is over. (This is not to scare you, just being honest hehe it’s worth the cold!!)

Reserve your parking spot at recreation.gov. You’ll want to reserve the Brainard Lake Picnic Site parking lot. The actual lake is only a 2 minute walk from this parking lot and the reservation costs $16. This location is seasonal so it is only open from June – October.

And of course, leave no trace. In order to keep loving and visiting our beautiful land, please leave no trace by picking up all trash and personal belongings before leaving.

my story continues here

For me, photography isn’t just my job. It is my passion and purpose. I’m drawn to the beauty of genuine connection, the way your head rests gently on your spouse’s shoulder, how you throw your head back and laugh as your best friend gives their speech, and the way your parents cry during your vows.

The little things. The tiny details. The things you never, ever want to forget, captured in honest, true-to-life colors that don’t just document the way things look, but the way they feel.

Chapter 03.

From slow dancing at sunset to laughing so hard your makeup starts to run, my goal is to document your wedding day in a way that feels like you.
