Wilyem and Katie’s engagement session in Colorado felt like such an easy, genuine evening to document. From the start, they were completely themselves, which always makes the biggest difference in how a session comes together.
They have a natural way of being together that does not feel posed or forced. The way they looked at each other, the way Katie leaned into him, the smiles they shared, it all just happened without much direction. It made my job simple in the best way!!
The location gave us so much to work with. The red rock paired so well with Katie’s dress, and the tones throughout the landscape added a lot of depth without taking attention away from them. Everything complemented their energy instead of competing with it, which is always the goal.
What stood out most was how comfortable they were. Whether they were walking together or stopping for a moment, nothing felt rushed. They just took their time, stayed close, and let the moments happen. That kind of presence always shows up in photos in the best way.
Sessions like this are why I love documenting couples in this season. It is not about perfect posing or creating something overly styled. It is about capturing what is already there. Wilyem and Katie made that incredibly easy.
