The Gil’s tied the knot recently for their Canon City, CO wedding day and it was perfect. There’s something special about intimate weddings. Especially when the focus is completely on the couple, their closest people, and the meaning behind the day.
Fernando and Alondra’s wedding in Canon City was exactly that. No stress, no over-the-top production, just a beautiful day full of love and calm energy! A day with a couple who were fully present with each other every step of the way!!
Their Day
From the moment I arrived, I could tell this day was going to be one of those I wouldn’t forget. Alondra was getting ready surrounded by the people who know her best. The vibe was relaxed and happy, everyone just genuinely excited to see her walk down the aisle. I love when there’s no pressure to rush, and this was one of those days where the timeline moved at a pace that allowed for real connection.
After the ceremony, we snuck off for portraits, and this is always one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s such a good chance for the couple to breathe, take each other in, and just be together without all eyes on them. Canon City gave us the perfect natural backdrop. Between it’s mountain views, lighting, and quiet little pockets of beauty, it matched the feel of the day.
The rest of the evening was just as laid-back and heartfelt! A few happy tears, and lots of moments that showed just how loved Fernando and Alondra are. Every single guest was there for them, and you could feel that support in the room.
I left their wedding feeling really grateful. It wasn’t just for the chance to photograph it, but for getting to witness a relationship that feels so grounded and full of care. Fernando and Alondra reminded me that weddings don’t have to be huge or flashy to be memorable. Sometimes the quiet ones are the ones that stick with you the most.
