There’s just something about an intimate Colorado elopement that makes my photographer heart so happy! The slower pace, the personal moments, and the focus on what really matters, it never gets old. Sierra and Jake’s elopement in the Colorado mountains was the perfect example of why I love this kind of day so much!

These two chose to keep things simple and meaningful, surrounded by nothing but nature and each other. We started the day with a first look tucked into the trees, and it was one of those moments that just felt right. No pressure, no distractions, just the two of them seeing each other for the first time in a quiet spot with pine trees all around. First looks like this are always a favorite part of the day because you really get to pause and take it all in.

Afterward, they took a few minutes to sign their marriage papers, and it was honestly the sweetest thing. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking portraits in the forest, with the light peeking through the trees and the mountains in the background. The whole vibe was relaxed, calm, and just full of love. No stress, no rush, just a peaceful celebration of their new beginning!

This is why I’ll always have a soft spot for elopements. Whether it’s just the couple, a few loved ones, or a small group of friends, these days always feel personal and real. You get to focus on what matters most, and as a photographer, that’s the kind of story I love documenting.
